INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

Green Building Expertise

A broad knowledge of our field is critical to how Stego supports the industry and our customers. Yet, many segments of the industry necessitate unique expertise. The green building landscape is complex: project teams must navigate an array of green building certifications and understand how thousands of building products fit in. In 2011, the Stego Green Team was created. Made up of Stego team members across multiple departments and organizational levels, the Stego Green Team helps map Stego’s broad sustainability efforts. Our Green Team is committed to continually un derstanding trends with sustainability in the built environment and the evolution of green building rating systems. This allows Stego to develop a range of tools, re sources, and training opportunities to best serve both our internal teams and exter nal customers.

Tom Marks, employee since 2007, is a driving force and founding member of the Stego Green Team. Serving as the Sustainability Manager, he oversees Stego’s leadership in holistic product and corporate sustainability.

Stego also invests in the professional development of team members to provide unique green building expertise to our industry. We currently have: ° LEED Certified Professional: Stego’s LEED ® Green Associate ™ , Tom Marks, has a foundational understanding of green building principles and how to support project teams working on LEED projects. ° Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC ® ): certified through the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) our CPHC, Kyle Mitchell, possesses a robust knowledge of passive design principles. Key competencies include passive building physics, high-performance building enclosure design, and building science fundamentals. Advanced green building knowledge not only allows us to assist project teams in high-performance design and navigating project certification, but also influences internal learning and development. Our SteGreen Training Series makes sustainability a meaningful aspect of company-wide training and communication. SteGreen Training topics range from sharing industry updates to in-depth examination of green building rating systems. The goal is often to arm our technical Sales team with the knowledge and tools to better support customers and projects.
