CIRCULARITY

Our commitment and contribution to helping reduce the built environ ment’s impact is exemplified by the Life of the Building™ Warranty on all our vapor barrier film products.

100 Percent Recyclable Films* The useful life and value of many Stego products can be extended through recycling. Stego va por barrier (and retarder) film products, as well as outer protective shrouds, have been tested and accepted as recyclable by Trex Company, Inc. in their NexTrex ® Program (NexTrex officially certified products include: Stego Wrap 15 mil, Stego Wrap 10 mil, StegoHome vapor retarder, StegoCrawl 6 and 10 mil, Pango Wrap, Drago Wrap, and Stego Wrap shroud. Although our other wrap shrouds have not gone through certification, their composition is identical to the NexTrex certified Stego Wrap shroud, except for variations in pigment, which would not be expected to impact certifiability or recyclability). This is an option for end users, to divert approved Stego vapor barrier product waste and packaging from landfills, maximize our product’s value, and extend its useful life as a resource for new products. All paper-based packaging materials of Stego products are 100 percent recyclable through com mon residential curbside or commercial single-stream recycling collection. This includes cor rugated and cardboard boxes for all accessories, inner rigid roll core of vapor barrier films, and packaging labels. In addition, all corrugated packaging boxes are comprised of 66.7–95 percent post-consumer or post-industrial recycled content. *Please refer to NexTrex guidelines for product acceptance criteria and approved drop off locations. Do not dispose of Stego films or protective shroud packaging in curbside, municipal recycling. Thus, these products may not be recyclable in your area. Not all Stego products and components are recyclable and some Stego products may not be recyclable in your area. Please contact Stego directly for more information.

Circularity at Stego

Although there is certainly an associated impact with the lifecycle of any plastic product, Stego is well-positioned for the circular economy, particularly within our market segment of high-performance vapor barriers. Engineered for Durability and Reduced Impact Stego vapor barrier solutions are engineered for long-term performance. This means effective vapor protection to keep the concrete slab or crawl space dry and help prevent moisture-induced flooring failures, mold growth, and damage to oth er building components, as well as support building flexibility. These outcomes contribute to the overall durability of buildings and homes — a key aspect to reduc ing their impact. Consider both the financial costs and embodied carbon impacts associated with resources consumed (e.g., renovation operations, sourcing and in stallation of new building materials, etc.) to fix problems that could arise over time without proper vapor protection.
